Prayer for WuHan

In response to the Wuhan Coronavirus Outbreak,
Fo Guang Shan has begun reciting the Prajnaparamita Heart Sutra to pray for the community in heeding to Buddhism’s compassionate call. Our thoughts of kindness may purify the world and transform society.
As of today until 16th February 2020, we invite all to answer the call and pray that the epidemic be ended under the blessings of the Buddha.
On 23rd February 2020, Fo Guang Shan Monastery will conduct a General Dedication of Merits Dharma Service to pray for victims of the Wuhan Coronavirus Outbreak.
Dates of Cultivation:
- As of today until 16th February 2020
Procedure:
   1. Meditate for three minutes. Join your palms.
   2. Recite  “Blessed be Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva”  
                     3 times
   3. Recite the Prajnaparamita Heart Sutra
   4. Take Refuge in the Triple Gem
I take refuge in the Buddha, wishing that all sentient beings understand the Dharma and make the supreme vow.
I take refuge in the Dharma, wishing that all sentient beings study the sutras diligently and obtain an ocean of wisdom.
I take refuge in the Sangha, wishing that all sentient beings lead the masses in harmony, without obstruction.
   5. Read aloud Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s 
  “Prayer to Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva for Safety from the
    Wuhan Coronavirus Outbreak”
   6. Dedication of Merits
May kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity pervade all worlds;
May we cherish and build affinities to benefit all beings;
May Chan, Pure Land, and Precepts inspire equality and patience;
May our humility and gratitude give rise to great vows.
